Writing, formatting and exports need nothing. Add AI only where you want it.
The screenwriting suite needs no AI at all. When you want it, sign in: Studio writing runs on your plan’s monthly writing usage and reads your whole story before it writes a word. Or open ✨ Assistant and use your own Claude, GPT or Grok key, or free local writing with Ollama. Your keys stay on your machine.
Storyboards, shots and short clips render with media credits, nothing to install. Prefer free and private? Run the ComfyUI app on your computer and Shooting Draft finds it on its own: images and short clips render locally, with any image checkpoint you have.
Open Account → Connected apps and press Connect beside Higgsfield, Runway, Kling, Pika, Krea and the rest. One click, and what you make there lands on the right shot. Working with an AI agent? Help → 🤖 AI agents (MCP) shows how to plug it in, and anything it generates is pinned to a scene.
macOS: signed and notarized by Apple. Double-click to open. Windows: the installer isn’t code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows a prompt once. Click More info → Run anyway and it installs like any other app.
